Take a few moments to learn more about DFW performer on the rise Arianna Reed.

When was your first time on stage?

My first time on stage was when I was in elementary school (I honestly don’t remember how old I was). I was in an Easter play at my church, and I played the angel that told Mary that Jesus had risen. I literally screamed the line at the top of my lungs because I wanted to make it somewhat memorable.

When did you know you wanted to be an actor?

My sophomore year of high school! A few of my friends convinced me to audition for Footloose since I danced and I was in choir. I was cast in it, and that’s when I realized that acting was something that I couldn’t live without.

 Who is your greatest mentor?

I don’t have one in particular. I’ve been mentored by quite a few people in my life, and I still look up to them and ask them for advice every now and then. My voice teachers and dance instructors are definitely some of my greatest mentors though! They always pushed me to continue to pursue my dreams, and they believed in me whenever I didn’t believe in myself. This career path can be super tough on a person if they struggle with anxiety and self esteem issues, so having people in your corner to support you is always refreshing.

What role have you enjoyed the most in your career so far?

I loved playing Cod in Catch Me If You Can. The character is typically played by a male presenting person, so it was really cool to get to play one of the FBI agents and wear a suit. I also loved being able to just be myself on stage.

Do you have a dream role?

Yes, I have several! The leading player in Pippin, Persephone or Eurydice in Hadestown and The Witch in Into the Woods!

What person(s) would you like to be on stage with?

I would love to share the stage with Tara Park, Rachel Poole, and Jayden Russell again! They’re all so kind and insanely talented!

What performances have you seen that impressed you?

Tarzan at Lyric Stage Dallas, Spamalot at The Firehouse Theatre, Misery at Lakeside, Into The Woods and Native Gardens at Dallas Theater Center, and Hadestown. I have an entire list.

What are your career goals?

I want to become a household name one day, and just inspire people to continue to go after their dreams and do things that they never believed they could. Honestly, I just want to be someone that future generations can look up to when it comes to the arts.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I didn’t really like theatre growing up. Like I thought it was one of the most obnoxious things a person could do, but now it’s what I want to do for the rest of my life.
