When was your first time on stage?

The first time being on stage was in 1st grade actually, it was more of a holiday show I’ve done and it involved dancing and singing. Started doing Theater at J.O. Davis Elementary and may I say out of P.E., Math, Science, etc, Theater became my passion as a kid. During my time at Davis Elementary I was in Choir performing every holiday season at Six Flags, and when I thought singing was something I wanted to take up, the theater really pushed me to conquer the aspects I wanted in my life. When I started singing it was no accident, I was just a kid watching Sesame Street and singing my little heart out to “Elmo’s Song and Sing”.

When did you know you wanted to be an actor?

Watching Nickelodeon and Disney shows such as “Kenan and Kel”, “All That”, “That’s So Raven” and many many more, those shows really inspire me to be an actor, even though I’d never made it in the television business as a kid those shows really inspired me to keep pushing and keep going forward on the right path that you love and who knew it would be the performing arts. When I started acting in a U.I.L play at Crockett Middle School I never thought I would enjoy it so much until I took home Best Acting Performance in 2012, so then I started realizing this is what I was born to do (the t.v. and movies can wait) the stage is my calling.

Who is your greatest mentor?

Well….. To be honest I’ve had so many mentors that have believed in me from the very beginning starting with my very first theatre teacher from Davis Elementary Ms. Shelley, going through the years Ms. Hanson-Hewitt, Mr. Brentham and the many instructors from KD Conservatory including Linda Leonard, Michael Childs, Michael Serrecchia, and Michael Schraeder.

What roles have you enjoyed the most in your career so far?

There’s too many roles I’ve enjoyed, but I’ll tell you I’d enjoy performing “Ricky, Mr.T, and Ensemble” in Upright Theatre Co. production of The Wedding Singer. Being the “Rola Bola Man and Ensemble” in Theatre Frisco’s production of Pippin. Performing the “Priest” in Mainstage Las Colinas production of The Light in the Piazza. I can’t forget being in the hilarious Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Ensemble at Mainstage, needless to say stepping on the dog bag every night seems to always crack me up.

Do you have a dream role?

You already know I have dream roles in my audition book. Being the Genie in Aladdin, Marquis De Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton, Javert in Les Miserables, Youth in Passing Strange, Donkey in Shrek the Musical, Bobby in Memphis, Michael in Be More Chill, The Lion in The Wiz.

I wouldn’t mind being on stage with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Norm Lewis, Tituss Burgess, Daniel Breaker, Josh Groban, and many amazing performers I admire and respect. Fun Fact: James Monroe Iglehart is my spirit actor, let’s face it I just love the man’s energy and personality.

What performances have you seen that impressed you?

Seeing Something Rotten in Garland, and watching A Christmas Carol at Dallas Theater Center.

What are your career goals?

Being able to perform on tour in a musical, and to be a Tony nominated actor in a musical, and to direct a musical and or play.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

When ever you see me at an audition or on stage, be prepared to be amazed at the comedic timing of a master, because when I’m in character let’s just say I’m giving you 100% of not just Cam, but another character who is entertaining you with zest.
